The Municipality of Ruše is once again participating in the European Mobility Week project, which will take place between September 16th and 22nd, 2023.
EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK is a traditional European initiative that encourages local communities to implement and promote sustainable transportation measures. Efforts to promote more environmentally and human-friendly forms of mobility connect thousands of participating cities each year. This year's activities are held under the slogan "Save energy".
In the Municipality of Ruše, the introduction to European Mobility Week will take place on Sunday, September 10th, 2023, during the traditional event ''Ruška Nedelja''. This way we will combine tradition and raising awareness among residents about sustainable mobility.

RUŠKA NEDELJA / CLEAN UP THE STREETS
September 10th, 2023, from 7:00 onwards / Ruše - center

Let's get rid of clutter and clean up the streets.
We can only promote walking and cycling if and when the infrastructure for said activities is of high quality, pleasant and most importantly, safe. The fundamental purpose of the national activity ''Clean up the streets'', which is taking part within this year's European Mobility Week, is to identify, remove and prevent obstacles on public surfaces.
In the Municipality of Ruše, we will raise awareness among residents about obstacles on public surfaces through graphic materials, thereby encouraging responsible behaviour of each individual, as we are often the ones at fault. On Ruška nedelja, residents will be encouraged to answer short surveys in which they will identify the most common obstacles on walking and cycling infrastructure and their locations.
Ruška nedelja will, first and foremost, stay a traditional event with craft presentations and market stalls, however, since it is a popular traditional event for residents, we will take this opportunity to promote sustainable transportation measures, close a street for cars and encourage people to help us ''clean the streets''.

EXPLORING POHORJE FORESTS WITH BIKES

We will explore Pohorje forests on bikes and have a chance to authentically experience it's beauty. Safety will be ensured by the cycling guides Barbara and Jure.

AWARDS CEREMONY OF THE 13TH INTERNATIONAL BOWLING TOURNAMENT ''RUŠE OPEN 2023''

OUTDOOR EXERCISE FOR EVERYONE

Exercise will take place regardless of the weather. It is recommended for participants to wear sportswear or other comfortable clothing and footwear. All exercises will be performed while standing, and no special sports equipment will be needed.
Together, we will stretch our bodies, all the joints, and muscles. Starting with hands and finishing with feet. We will perform simple exercises that anyone can do.

TO WORK WITHOUT A CAR
September 19th, 2023, at 7:00 / Športni park Ruše

We all know by now that cars are no longer trendy. European Mobility Week is dedicated to promoting the use of public transport and alternative forms of travel. During this week, leave your car at home and choose a sustainable way to commute to and from work.
On Tuesday, September 19th, we will travel to work in Maribor by bicycle through the suburban cycling connection Maribor - Ruše. We meet at Športni park Ruše at 7:00 in the morning. Refreshments will be available for all cyclists.
Come and combine your commute to work with recreation.

MOVE, HUMAN!

The game is similar to the classic version of "Ludo game". There can be 2 to 4 players. On the way to the gym (safe house), additional tasks (coloured fields) are added to it, which require players to move and be physically active. When you reach a field with extra tasks, you can continue the game only after completing them. During exercises (if specified), everyone participates; if a player doesn't perform the exercise, they don't roll the dice for one round.
