At the Juri Gymnasium, a school with 1400 students, the local municipality is carrying out a pilot project to create a safer traffic environment at the immediate surroundings of the school. In a period of 1-2 months, we observe the morning rush our and create a temporary traffic plan for the school environment, based on best practices and guidelines for safe streets close to schools. The plan is designed in coolaboration with the school board and the parents. The plan is implemented with temporary traffic control devices for two weeks. After the two weeks, the results are evaluated, some of the measures might be temporarily extended, while others have the potential to be permanently implemented.
