Kindergartens in the municipality of Črnomelj have been participating in the White Rabbit activity for many years, with which we want to encourage children and parents to come to kindergarten in a more sustainable way. A sustainable way of getting to kindergarten and home is encouraged. This year we will extend the activity to two weeks.

2. Actively in elementary school with Kokoška Roza; the activity is carried out from 11.9.2023 to 22.9.2023

For many years in our primary schools, we have been encouraging children to come to school in a more sustainable way by bicycle, scooter or on foot. In September, as part of the ETM events, at least from 16 to 22 September. we are asking for the school's help to carry out an activity with Roza the chicken and thereby motivate the students additionally. This year we will extend the activity to two weeks.

At 4:00 p.m., there will be a Walk for Memory: The Črnomelj Senior Citizens Home organizes a walk for elderly and physically disabled people with the help of companions and volunteers around the town of Črnomelj. At the same time, they remind of the infrastructural problems around the city for people with mobility impairments that they come across on the way and inform the local community about it so that they can be removed as soon as possible.

From 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., a 2 km walking test would be conducted: The Bela krajina Health Promotion Center will conduct a walking test in the park at the Senior Citizens' Home in Črnomlje. A test to determine physical capacity will be conducted under expert guidance. According to the obtained result, the participants will be advised about appropriate physical activity to strengthen their health.

From 7 AM-7PM: CAR-FREE DAY; During the parking day, the Municipality of Črnomelj will completely close the parking lot at Črnomaljska grad and the street at Utrdbe for one day and transform it into a public space, which will be intended for all citizens of the Municipality of Črnomelj to socialize and raise awareness about the importance of walking, cycling and using other sustainable forms of mobility and socializing in public space. Through promotional channels, we will encourage parking outside the city center at the free Majer parking lot and arriving on foot from the parking lot over the footbridge across the river into the city center. With the morning exercise "We always like to exercise, young people", a children's show on the topic of transport and the awarding of prizes for participating schools and kindergartens in ETM 2023, the all-day exhibition "Efficient ways", a cycling training ground with practical prizes awarded to the participants, a course on safe cycling town and the ring road, with various animations for children, a handicraft stand, street performers and music concerts, we will attract a large number of residents. A bicycle repair shop will be organized, where attendees will be taught how to change an inner tube, a competition will be held in changing an inner tube, and simpler bicycle repairs will be carried out. As part of this, it will be possible to test an electric bike and at the same time get information about the differences between a normal and an e-bike, for whom an e-bike is suitable.
At the same time, we will encourage them to change their travel habits into sustainable activities and to use public space in a different way than they do on a daily basis (car park). Visitors will be able to learn how to prepare a healthy lunch at one of the stands and learn that a healthy and nutritious lunch can also be prepared quickly. We will also carry out a sustainable measure - the purchase of a bicycle stand for Vinica Primary School and bicycles for taking cycling tests - Stari trg ob Kolpa Primary School.
