Detailed description (English): BATTECH is the reference center for covering all R+D+i (Research, Development, and Innovation) aspects of the battery ecosystem in Southern Europe. It encompasses research, development, and innovation across the entire value chain of the next generation of electric cells and batteries for electric mobility markets, renewable energies, and equipment goods, driven by Eurecat and IREC.
BATTECH is aligned with the concept of sustainable mobility, with special focus on studying new energy storage solutions to pave the way for the introduction of electric vehicles in both the automotive sector and charging point manufacturers, among others.
Furthermore, this initiative is in line with the Paris Agreement, which sets a 40% reduction target in emissions by 2030 through the development of higher energy density, efficient, and sustainable batteries for electric vehicles. The initiative also contributes to the New Industrial Strategy for Europe, the Circular Economy Action Plan, and the Regulatory Framework for Sustainable Batteries, all of which are key actions of the European Green Deal.
Detailed description (original language): BATTECH és el centre de referència per cobrir tota l’R+D+i de l’ecosistema de bateries del sud d’Europa, que abasta la recerca, desenvolupament i innovació de tota la cadena de valor de la pròxima generació de cel·les i bateries elèctriques per als mercats de la mobilitat elèctrica, les energies renovables i els béns d’equip impulsat per Eurecat i l’IREC.
BATTECH s’emmarca en el concepte de mobilitat sostenible, amb especial atenció en l’estudi de noves fórmules d’emmagatzematge d’energia per aplanar el camí de la introducció del vehicle elèctric, tant del sector de l’automoció com de fabricants de punts de recàrrega, entre d’altres.
La iniciativa, a més, està alineada amb l’Acord de París, el qual estableix una reducció de les emissions del 40 per cent per al 2030 a través del desenvolupament de bateries de més alta densitat energètica, eficients i sostenibles per als vehicles elèctrics. La iniciativa contribueix, també, a la New Industrial Strategy for Europe, el Circular Economy Action Plan i el Regulatory Framework for Sustainable Batteries, que forma part de les accions clau de l’European Green Deal.
