Detailed description (English): This European cultural and railway event, starting at 3:00 PM at the Adriafer Rail Services headquarters in the Gorizia freight village, will take place as part of the GO! 2025 – European Capital of Culture celebrations.
The event, organized by AEC Italia (https://www.aecitalia.org/) in collaboration with ADRIAFER, aims to celebrate the railway as a tool for cultural, territorial, and environmental unity between Italy and Slovenia. This event will also feature the award ceremony for the "EUROFERR" European Railway Prize, awarded to the international stations of Gorizia and Nova Gorica, as well as to Adriafer and ADRIAFER RAIL SERVICES, recognized as meritorious companies in the railway sector. The "EUROFERR" Prize will also be awarded to the Sempeter pri Gorici station, located near Nova Gorica and Gorizia.
This will be followed by an international roundtable discussion entitled "Cultural Intermodality and the Culture of Intermodality," featuring representatives from the institutional, railway, and cultural worlds. The program also includes the presentation of a work by artist Emilio Isgrò, created on an Adriafer locomotive as a symbol of the dialogue between art, innovation, and sustainability.
Detailed description (original language): L’ evento culturale - ferroviario europeo in oggetto, con inizio alle ore 15:00, presso la sede di Adriafer Rail Services a interporto di Gorizia, si svolgerà nell’ambito delle celebrazioni di GO! 2025 – Capitale Europea della Cultura.
L’evento, organizzato da AEC Italia (https://www.aecitalia.org/) in collaborazione con ADRIAFER, intende celebrare la ferrovia come strumento diunione culturale, territoriale e ambientale tra Italia e Slovenia. In questa cornice, si svolgerà la cerimoniadi consegna del Premio Ferroviario Europeo “EUROFERR”, assegnato alle stazioni internazionali di Gorizia e Nova Gorica, nonché ad Adriafer ed ADRIAFER RAIL SERVICES, insignite come società benemerite nel settore ferroviario. Riceverà il Premio “EUROFERR” anche la stazione diSempeter pri Gorici che è posta vicino a Nova Gorica e Gorizia.
A seguire, si terrà una tavola rotonda internazionale dal titolo “Intermodalità culturale e cultura dell’intermodalità”, cui parteciperanno esponenti del mondo istituzionale, ferroviario e culturale. Il programma include inoltre la presentazione di un’opera dell’artista Emilio Isgrò, realizzata su una locomotiva Adriafer come simbolo didialogo tra arte, innovazione e sostenibilità
Target group(s): The target groups that will benefit from this event are European travellers and tourists who will learn more about the potential of the Italian-Slovenian railway network.
Objectives: The main objective, given that this Euroferr award is held in Europe, we think is to valorise the small and little-known European stations and their railways.
