Detailed description (English): Have you ever traveled with kids from an elementary school for an Erasmus+ project on bicycles? Have you seen such brave teachers who have decided to level up the sustainability status by preparing a cyclotour for Erasmus+ mobility with ten students? If yes, we are a part of such a community.
We decided to use a real green mode of transport and go to school for a group mobility activity on bikes and commute to school for peer to peer project work on bicycles. All the way down from Komárno to Budapest, we cycled along the beautiful Danube river 150 km in three days. Five girls and five boys, who none of them were active bike tourers, aged from 12 to 15, and two teachers, spent 10 days out of ordinary life and experienced cycling right through the center of busy Budapest. The following days, we changed everyday school to gain new perspectives.
The topic of our mobility project was sustainability on multiple levels and supporting the attitude of active citizenship in kids. They could bring their own observations and proposals to shift the attitudes of their schoolmates, teachers and school management towards a deeper understanding of the topic.
Target group(s): students, kids of elementary school
Objectives: To go on a Erasmus + mobility to neighburing country using green transport - bicycles,
to let students gain experience in biketouring which they wouldn't ever probably have interest in.
Partner: The project is founded by Europe Community.
