Detailed description (English): Our initiative promotes sustainable transport messages for the community, visitors, and responsible businesses in Gibraltar. Launched in 2022, the campaign encourages safe cycling, walking, and the use of public transport across the city. Initially, the campaign began with two buses dedicated to promoting safe cycling. Since then, it has grown significantly — between 2023 and 2024, the number of participating buses increased to three, and over the years a total of eight buses have actively carried our sustainability messages.
A key feature of the campaign is a large sticker displayed on the back of each bus. These stickers share a message encouraging people to choose sustainable modes of transport over driving. Alongside the message, the logos of supporting local and international companies are displayed, reflecting their commitment to sustainability. To date, over 120 businesses have joined the campaign, showing strong private-sector support.
This year’s campaign, launching in September 2025, focuses on public health and sustainable living. It highlights the connection between sustainable mobility, environmental responsibility, and physical wellbeing. The three campaign buses will feature new messages under the theme “Be Healthy,” each with a unique subtitle:
• Be Healthy – Change Makes Champions
• Be Healthy – Change Is the Only Constant
• Be Healthy – Gibraltar Is a 15-Minute City, Enjoy It
Our goal is to inspire residents and visitors to make small changes that lead to a lasting positive impact on both personal health and the environment.
Target group(s): Local and international businesses who support the initiative, residents and tourists.
Objectives: • Promote a cultural shift towards sustainable and active modes of transport in Gibraltar.
