Detailed description (English): "Au boulot à vélo" is our unique version of bike to work challenge. Every year during the month of June on the territory of Strasbourg Eurometropolis local NGO CADR67 and the city administration organise this challenge. The main goal of the action is to promote taking bicycle to work au lieu of a car. All the activities around "Au boulot à vélo" are visible on it's webpage : https://auboulotavelo.eu
It started with 10 companies and 50 people participating in 2009, to now when we have around 870 companies and 17 000 people engaging in this action every year.
Most importantly, more then 2 000 participants (almost every year) are those who never tried to take a bike to work before, which are the essence of our goal. Our challenge is showing them that it's possible and fun, therefore they cycle more to go to work after the challenge.
We have split the competition in categories, 6 all together. The winner in not the company that collected the most kilometres, that would be too easy. There's a mathematical formula that makes sure to win more point if someone has done 10 trips of 5km, then 1 trip of 50km.
Thanks to this challenge, every month of June in bicycle month in Strasbourg Eurometropolis (and beyond).
Detailed description (original language): Avec plus de 16% des déplacements domicile-travail effectués à vélo, Strasbourg est la ville qui compte le plus d’actifs à vélo en France.
Plus généralement, la part des déplacements à vélo sur l’Eurométropole représente 8% de l’ensemble des déplacements journaliers.
La collectivité se fixe comme objectif de doubler cette part d’ici à 2030.Pour y parvenir, l’Eurométropole déploie un ensemble de mesures en vue de favoriser le vélo, parmi lesquels des mesures incitatives festives de promotion de l’usage du vélo.
Une étude a prouvé que l’édition 2017 du challenge Au Boulot à Vélo a permis de « créer » 500 nouveaux cyclistes réguliers, ce qui fait de ce challenge un outil précieux au service de la politique de mobilité du territoire.
