Detailed description (English): Provide an initial workshop to the citizenship and community of university students, to raise awareness and teach about the proper driving of the tandem bicycle, which will allow to add volunteer guides to promote the participation of blind and visually impaired people in sustainable mobility, sports, recreation and tourism.
Our activity will be integrated into the area of influence of the Sunday walk of the city of Quito.
This experience will be developed under the principles of safe use, coexistence in public space and based on traffic rules.
Detailed description (original language): Brindar un taller inicial (experiencia) a la ciudadanía y comunidad de estudiantes universitarios, para sensibilizar y enseñar sobre la adecuada conducción de la bicicleta tándem , lo cuál permita sumar guías voluntarios para promover la participación de personas ciegas y con discapacidad visual en la movilidad sostenible, deportiva, recreativa y turística.
Nuestra actividad se hará integrada al área de influencia del paseo dominical de la ciudad de Quito.
Este taller será desarrollado bajo los principios de uso seguro, convivencia en el espacio publico y en base de las normas de tránsito .
Target group(s): Blind or visually impaired people and their families.
University students of sports, recreational and tourism disciplines.
Cycling groups and activists.
Volunteer associations.
Objectives: c) Promote the tandem as an inclusive mobility alternative, as a means of transportation that facilitates safe travel for blind and visually impaired people, while allowing them to enjoy public space and improve their quality of life.
a) Carry out an experience, in the area of influence of the Sunday walk in the city of Quito, to raise awareness and promote the participation of this segment of people in mobility activities, recreation, urban tourism and sports in public space.
b) Motivate the participation of citizens and the community of university students, on a safe use and based on the traffic rules of the tandem bicycle for inclusion. To become new tandem guides in the future.
