Detailed description (English): The European Mobility Week Steps Challenge by Walk15 is an international walking initiative supported by EIT Urban Mobility and hosted on the Walk15 app. Taking place from 16 to 22 September 2025, the challenge invites citizens across Europe to walk more and support their cities in the race toward healthier, more sustainable urban living.
Participants track their steps using the Walk15 app and contribute them to their chosen city. The more people walk, the more steps their city collects — and the closer it gets to the top of the leaderboard. Individuals, teams, organisations, and municipalities are all encouraged to join.
Whether walking solo or as part of a group, participants are not only promoting active mobility, but also helping to raise awareness about the importance of people-centred urban planning.
How to participate:
- Download the Walk15 app
- Go to the “Challenges” section and select European Mobility Week
- Choose your city
- Start walking and track your steps
Invite friends, colleagues, or your organisation to join!
