Detailed description (English): To kick off European Mobility Week, CIE will launch the 2024 Edition of its groundbreaking report, "Shared Ambition," which benchmarks the performance of bike sharing in 148 strategic EU cities. The launch will take place via webinar on 16 September at 3PM CEST. The growing popularity of bike sharing offers a range of benefits to cities and therefore the report's primary objective is to equip cities and policymakers with the tools to identify the potential for bike sharing to significantly contribute to the EU's mobility, climate, and cycling policies, and to highlight key performance indicators for successful deployment of bike sharing.
The report will be launched via webinar, during which new city rankings will be revealed, along with the “secrets of success” from high performers to help develop the entire ecosystem. We have a great line up of speakers, including top ranking cities and leading bike share experts. The session will be followed by a Q&A, providing an opportunity for you to join the discussion and ask your own questions.

Objectives: The purpose of this report is to provide a tool that supports the EU’s key goals for active and shared transport. The EU, Member States, regions and cities can see what could be delivered if comprehensive bike sharing schemes were adopted and considered a fully integrated mode of public transport in all EU cities over 100,000 population and in the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) urban nodes.
The primary objective is to equip cities and policymakers with the tools to identify the potential for bike sharing to significantly contribute to the EU's mobility, climate, and cycling policies, and to highlight key performance indicators for successful deployment of bike sharing.
The benchmarks of the report can be compared with city’s Sustainable Mobility Indicators in their Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPS), demonstrating whether they are achieving active and shared mobility outcomes.
