Detailed description (English): Our kindergarten launched a comprehensive initiative to promote sustainable mobility and a healthy lifestyle among young children and their families. As part of our daily routine, we ensure that every child learns how to ride a bicycle through regular cycling sessions incorporated into our educational program. To extend our impact beyond the kindergarten, we introduced "Bike Monday", encouraging families to commute by bicycle (or without a car) at least once a week. This action fosters eco-conscious habits and reduces car traffic around the kindergarten area.
Each season, we organize bicycle tours within our city, choosing progressively distant destinations to help children build endurance and confidence. Family members are also invited to participate, strengthening the connection between generations and environmental responsibility. Thanks to our city’s well-developed cycling infrastructure, we aim to promote its usage among residents. Motivated by our success, we extended our program to other local kindergartens. During European Mobility Week (16–22 September 2025), we provided balance bikes and children’s bicycles to five kindergartens, allowing hundreds of children to experience cycling in a fun and safe way.
In total, 654 kindergarten children and 108 staff members actively participated in our mobility campaign.
We believe that teaching children about sustainable transport and healthy habits at an early age is essential for building a livable and greener future.
Detailed description (original language): Óvodánkban minden gyermeket megtanítunk kerékpározni. A gyermekcsoportok napirendjébe beépítettük a kerékpáros foglalkozásokat, a családok számára "biciklihétfőt" hirdettünk, arra ösztönözve őket, hogy egyre
többen jöjjenek legalább a hét első napján autómentesen, lehetőleg kerékpárral az óvodába. Évszakonként kerékpáros túrákat teszünk a városban, egyre távolabbi célállomás megjelölésével. Ezekre az alkalmakra szintén meghívjuk a családtagokat is. Városunkban jól kiépített a kerékpár úthálózat, nem titkolt célunk, hogy ennek
használatára szeretnénk ösztönözni a városlakókat. Sikereinken felbuzdulva, programunkat már továbbgondoltuk, a város többi óvodáját is bevontuk a kerékpározás népszerűsítésébe. A mobilitási hét minden napján egy-egy óvodánk (összesen 5) számára adtuk kölcsön a futóbicikliket, gyermekkerékpárokat, hogy ők is tekerjenek a zöld jövőért. 654 óvodás gyermek és 108 munkatársunk mozdult meg a mobilitási akciónkban 2025 szeptember 16 – 22 között. Hiszünk benne, hogy ha óvodáskorban egészséges életmódra neveljük a gyermekeket, ha megtanítjuk számukra, hogyan csökkenthetjük a károsanyag kibocsátást, akkor megalapozhatunk egy élhetőbb jövőt.
