Detailed description (English): ManiGreen, led by the youth-powered NGO 2050 To People, reimagines the EMW 2025 theme “Mobility for Everyone” through art, inclusion, and intergenerational action. Instead of infrastructure, ManiGreen fosters cultural mobility by transforming public spaces into walkable, creative environments.
From September 16–22, 1,200 students from across Rome’s schools and disability organizations collaborate on eco-themed drawings, guided by workshops curated throughout the year by professors and artists from Sapienza University & the Academy of Fine Arts. These works explore the clear interconnection between sustainability, nature, mobility, energy and inclusion.
The initiative culminates in an open-air art gallery at Castel Sant’Angelo’s restored gardens, OCTOBER 12–NOVEMBER 2. Installations around nearly 100 newly planted trees throughout the park will feature student art and knitted and crocheted inserts by elderly community members, symbolizing a united vision across generations.
OCTOBER 12 marks the exhibition’s launch with a full day of free community events, including the creation of the Third Paradise by Michelangelo Pistoletto, (nomitated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize), STEM hubs, workshops, labs and inclusive activities with sign language and Braille.
OCTOBER 13, the historic amphitheatre hosts “Art, Environment & Algorithms: the world tomorrow,” an open-air round table where youth and experts discuss AI’s ethical role in shaping a sustainable future. ManiGreen invites all generations to reflect on climate responsibility during Rome's first Jubilee of Education 2025.
Target group(s): Our audience is the global community starting with children in their formative school years and extending to high school students, families, educators, and curious minds of all ages. The project is designed to spark meaningful participation not only among locals, but also among friends, relatives, and international visitors arriving in Rome for the 2025 Jubilee. It’s a worldwide invitation to engage in educational dialogue around some of the most urgent and inspiring themes of our time: sustainability, inclusion, and the transformative role of artificial intelligence in successfully shaping a more "connected" world for us all.
Objectives: ManiGreen is about engaging the community to create an initiative that transforms sustainability, inclusion, and ethical innovation into tangible experiences. Through an open-air art gallery in the heart of Rome, just steps away from St. Peter's, we showcase the visions of future citizens, supported by the wisdom of those who have paved the way and a day of interactive laboratories free of charge. The project invites people of all ages to explore how accessibility, affordability, and inclusion are interconnected ideals as well as pressing social issues. By creatively engaging the public, ManiGreen empowers communities to turn these values into everyday holistic actions, guided by responsible use of resources and technology knowledge of the heart.
