Detailed description (English): Mobility requirements have always shaped the cityscape. Cities are also traffic centers. The destruction of the last world war opened up the opportunity to place the automobile at the center of reconstruction planning. Kassel was to be rebuilt as a car-friendly city “on old ground”. It is often claimed that this was based on “National Socialist urban planning”. During the walk, typical features of this urban planning era are explained at exemplary locations.
