Detailed description (English): The Municipality of Borgaro Torinese, in collaboration with Unione Industriali Torino and with the technical support of MobilitySquare, is carrying out a project aimed at optimizing mobility in the industrial area of the territory. The initiative aims to actively involve local companies in a process of transforming their employees' travel habits. The main objective is to initiate a shared process that makes companies protagonists of change, promoting innovative and sustainable solutions for home-work mobility. Through direct comparison between neighboring companies, the aim is to encourage the sharing of best practices, the identification of synergies, and the definition of common strategies to reduce the use of private cars in favor of more efficient and environmentally friendly alternatives. To achieve these objectives a 2 hours meeting has been planned on Sept 26th, with a World-Café-style interactive methodology that allows participants to discuss in an informal but productive way, rotating between different thematic tables and actively contributing to the collection of ideas, critical issues, and proposals. The meeting, which is sponsored by the Metropolitan City of Turin, represents a unique opportunity for local companies to express their points of view and highlight opportunities for improvement together. The meeting serves as a starting point for the creation of an Industrial Area Mobility Management Plan, defining an integrated model capable of meeting the needs of companies and workers, while contributing to the reduction of traffic and polluting emissions.
Detailed description (original language): Il Comune di Borgaro Torinese, in collaborazione con Unione Industriali Torino e con il supporto tecnico di MobilitySquare, sta portando avanti un progetto volto a ottimizzare la mobilità nell'area industriale del territorio. L'iniziativa mira a coinvolgere attivamente le aziende locali in un processo di trasformazione delle abitudini di spostamento dei propri dipendenti. L'obiettivo principale è quello di avviare un processo condiviso che renda le aziende protagoniste del cambiamento, promuovendo soluzioni innovative e sostenibili per la mobilità casa-lavoro. Attraverso il confronto diretto tra aziende vicine, si intende favorire la condivisione delle buone pratiche e la definizione di strategie comuni per ridurre l'uso dell'auto privata a favore di alternative più efficienti. Per raggiungere questi obiettivi è stato programmato un incontro di 2 ore il 26 settembre, con una metodologia interattiva in stile World-Café che permette ai partecipanti di discutere in modo informale ma produttivo, ruotando tra diversi tavoli tematici e contribuendo attivamente alla raccolta di idee, criticità e proposte. L'incontro, promosso dalla Città Metropolitana di Torino, rappresenta un'occasione unica per le aziende di esprimere il proprio punto di vista e individuare insieme opportunità di miglioramento. L'incontro costituisce il punto di partenza per la creazione di un Piano di Mobilità di Area Industriale, che definisca un modello integrato in grado di soddisfare le esigenze delle aziende e dei lavoratori, contribuendo alla riduzione del traffico e delle emissioni inquinanti.
Target group(s): The main target groups of the project are local companies and their employees, who will be the direct beneficiaries of the initiatives promoted. The aim is to actively involve both businesses and workers in order to develop sustainable mobility solutions that meet the needs of both. In addition to these main stakeholders, the project will also generate indirect benefits for the entire local community. Residents of the area under study will enjoy an overall improvement in their quality of life, thanks to reduced traffic, pollutant emissions, and environmental impact, as well as greater accessibility and safety when traveling.
Objectives: The objectives of the project are:
- promoting sustainable mobility with a particular focus on commuting between home and work;
- creating a participatory process that makes businesses and workers key players in the change;
- optimizing mobility in the industrial area, identifying synergies and promoting the adoption of shared Mobility Plans.
