Detailed description (English): Description:
The square near the school, between Dalmatinska Street and George Washington Street, reconstructed a few years ago, occupies a large area that is unused and is in the immediate vicinity of a kindergarten and an elementary school. Dalmatinska Street ends near the square with a very dangerous curve where there is an unmarked pedestrian crossing. In that place, every day, a large number of children cross the street.
The purpose of the square has not been thought out, it is paved, in one part there is a huge sculpture whose name and author are unknown, it is unmarked. Given that there are two institutions in the immediate vicinity attended by children of the youngest age (kindergarten and elementary school), the square needs to be slightly remodeled, equipped so that children of the youngest age can use it to ride rollerblades, scooters, so that it is a place where they can learn to ride a bicycle. Also, the local community should be influenced to install benches for the elderly and make this square a quality public space for people to stay comfortably, to direct them to use active modes of movement such as walking and using non-motorized modes of transportation.
On the occasion of this, and within the framework of the European Mobility Week project, on September 20, the older students of the school would draw attention to how this public space should be used.
Detailed description (original language): Opis:
