Detailed description (English): Industrie Mica Prahova SA and ”Drumul in siguranta” weblog are launching the study called "The Importance of Horizontal and Vertical Signaling in Road Safety", the first of its kind at national level. Police data regarding road events presented at the beginning of the year show that over 1,540 people lost their lives and another 3,550 were injured in road accidents in 2023. The main causes of serious accidents are failure to adapt speed to road conditions and pedestrians crossing the road in other places than designated pedestrian crossings. The study reveals, among other things, the importance and role of road markings as a speed limitation measure, but also the ways in which their retroreflectivity can contribute to pedestrian road safety. Among the topics addressed in the study are the effect of night traffic signaling on inexperienced drivers, its role and importance as a fundamental part of road infrastructure, but also the effects of marked pedestrian crossings on pedestrian behaviour.
Detailed description (original language): Industrie Mică Prahova SA și blogul Drumul în siguranță fac public studiul „Importanța semnalizării orizontale și verticale în siguranța rutieră,” primul de acest gen la nivel național. În contextul datelor privind evenimentele rutiere prezentate la început de an de IGPR, care arată că peste 1.540 de persoane și-au pierdut viața şi alte circa 3.550 au fost rănite în accidente rutiere în anul 2023, neadaptarea vitezei la condițiile de drum și traversarea neregulamentară a pietonilor fiind principalele cauze ale accidentelor grave, studiul relevă, printre altele, importanța și rolul marcajelor rutiere ca măsură de limitare a vitezei, dar și modalitățile în care retroreflectivitatea acestora poate contribui la siguranța rutieră a pietonilor.
Printre temele abordate sunt și efectul semnalizării rutiere pe timp de noapte asupra conducătorilor auto fără experiență, rolul și importanța acesteia ca parte fundamentală a infrastructurii rutiere, dar și efectele amplasării trecerilor de pietoni marcate asupra comportamentului pietonilor.
