Detailed description (English): NOESIS, the Cycling Sports Association of Thessaloniki (ΠΑΣΘ), and the Astronomy Friends Club (ΟΦΑ) are co-organizing a unique event for World Car-Free Day, under the auspices of the Municipality of Thermi. The event, titled “Cycling among the Planets!”, invites participants to cycle from Thermi Square to NOESIS. Along the route, scaled replicas of the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Earth will be placed as landmarks, offering a chance to experience the solar system’s scale.
This initiative, conceived by ΠΑΣΘ, aims to raise awareness about NOESIS and the Thermi area, promoting sustainable mobility. Cyclists will stop at each planetary landmark, with support from ΟΦΑ to explore the exhibits. Thermi’s Traffic Police will ensure safety, either blocking traffic or providing escorts for the cyclists.
At the finish line at NOESIS, participants can explore various types of specialty bikes, with demonstrations provided by ΠΑΣΘ, and view the Sun through a solar telescope. There will also be a traffic education track for children and adults, along with a space-themed lecture inside NOESIS. Attendees of the cycling event will enjoy a 50% discount on a show at NOESIS that day.
This educational and cultural event is free and open to adults and children (8+) and will take place on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 11 a.m., with the starting point at Earth (Thermi Square) and the finish line at the Sun (NOESIS Planetarium).
Detailed description (original language): Το ΝΟΗΣΙΣ, ο Ποδηλατικός Αθλητικός Σύλλογος Θεσσαλονίκης (ΠΑΣΘ) και ο Όμιλος Φίλων Αστρονομίας (ΟΦΑ) συνδιοργανώνουν μια μοναδική εκδήλωση για την Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Χωρίς Αυτοκίνητο, υπό την αιγίδα του Δήμου Θέρμης. Με τίτλο «Ποδηλατώντας ανάμεσα στους πλανήτες!», οι συμμετέχοντες θα διανύσουν μια ποδηλατική διαδρομή από την Πλατεία Θέρμης έως το ΝΟΗΣΙΣ, περνώντας από τοπόσημα που αναπαριστούν σε κλίμακα τον Ήλιο, τον Ερμή, την Αφροδίτη και τη Γη, βιώνοντας την κλίμακα του ηλιακού μας συστήματος.
Η δράση, βασισμένη σε ιδέα του ΠΑΣΘ, στοχεύει να αναδείξει το ΝΟΗΣΙΣ και την περιοχή της Θέρμης, προωθώντας τη βιώσιμη κινητικότητα. Οι ποδηλάτες θα κάνουν στάσεις στα τοπόσημα, με τη βοήθεια του ΟΦΑ, για να εξερευνήσουν τα εκθέματα. Η Τροχαία Θέρμης θα διασφαλίσει την ομαλή διεξαγωγή, είτε με διακοπή της κυκλοφορίας είτε με συνοδεία κατά μήκος της διαδρομής.
Στον τερματισμό, στο ΝΟΗΣΙΣ, θα υπάρχουν ποδήλατα ειδικού ενδιαφέροντος για παρουσίαση, τηλεσκόπιο για παρατήρηση του Ήλιου και πίστα κυκλοφοριακής αγωγής για μαθήματα σε παιδιά και ενήλικες. Θα πραγματοποιηθεί και διάλεξη σχετική με το θέμα της εκδήλωσης, ενώ οι συμμετέχοντες θα έχουν έκπτωση 50% για ένα θέαμα στο ΝΟΗΣΙΣ την ίδια μέρα.
Η συμμετοχή είναι δωρεάν, απευθύνεται σε ενήλικες και παιδιά (8+), και η εκδήλωση θα λάβει χώρα την Κυριακή 22 Σεπτεμβρίου 2024, στις 11 π.μ.
Target group(s): Bicycle users, space enthusiast, kids and families, local citizens of Thermi and Noesis center area.
Objectives: Promote cycling infracture to the citizens and local athorities, making a demonstration for a reformation of a road that could have sustainable mobility options and educations and caltural significance. Creating a unique excibit for the city and Noesis museum
