Detailed description (English): ADENE and Turismo de Portugal have organized 5 webinars for the tourism sector, one for each of the Portuguese regions (Lisbon, Alentejo and Ribatejo, Center, Algarve and Porto and North) about sustainable mobility. The situation of mobility in the sector, as determined by a survey conducted in 2023, was presented in the sessions along with the potential savings that result from the implementation of efficiency measures such as fleet electrification and energy efficiency improvement and the introduction of sustainable criteria for transportation services. To assess the mobility practices’ evolution and the measures proposed in the study, a new survey was also launched during the webinars. The results presented reveal that the sector can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 3 million tons per year (ca. 13% reduction) by improving the energy efficiency of fleets and by around 2 million tons annually (ca. 34% reduction of scope 3 emissions) by introducing sustainability criteria when hiring transportation services.
Detailed description (original language): A ADENE e o Turismo de Portugal organizaram 5 webinares para o setor do turismo, uma por cada região portuguesa (Lisboa, Alentejo e Ribatejo, Centro, Algarve e Porto e Norte), sobre mobilidade sustentável. Na sessão foi apresentada a situação da mobilidade no setor, determinada através de um questionário realizado em 2023, o potencial de poupança que resulta da implementação de medidas de eficiência como a eletrificação de frotas e melhoria da sua eficiência energética e a introdução de critérios de sustentabilidade na contratação de bens e serviços de transporte. Para avaliar a evolução do setor na implementação de práticas de mobilidade e das medidas propostas no estudo, foi ainda lançado um novo questionário durante as sessões. Os resultados apresentados revelam que o setor pode reduzir as emissões de gases com efeito de estufa em 3 milhões de toneladas por ano (uma redução de ca. 13%) através da melhoria da eficiência energética de frotas e em cerca de 2 milhões de toneladas por ano (ca. 34% de redução das emissões de âmbito 3) através da introdução de critérios de sustentabilidade na aquisição de serviços de transporte.
