Detailed description (English): Under MOVERS - Active to School, the state of Baden-Württemberg bundles measures for safe and actively traveled routes to school.
The interministerial state program advises and supports schools and municipalities in the planning and implementation of various components that enable children and young people to achieve safe and self-active mobility.
The interdepartmental program was designed under the leadership of the Ministry of Transport together with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of the Interior. The project is coordinated at the state level by Nahverkehrsgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg mbH (NVBW).
Piloted in 2023 at 20 schools in the disctrict of Ludwigsburg, the SCHULWEGPROFIS action module of the Landesprogramm MOVERS - Aktiv zur Schule had its country-wide rollout in September 2024. SCHULWEGPROFIS focuses on children in elementary schools across Baden-Württemberg. During the three-week competition, the students are encouraged to make as many as possible ways self-active on their own – without being driven by their parents. They are allowed to walk, use bikes, or scooters. The important thing is, that their ways to school are self-active.
The elementary school with the most active ways to school in comparison to their number of pupils is getting a surprise price for an active break.
