Detailed description (English): Given the current situation in Argentina, with great problems of obesity, little education and dissemination of healthy habits with respect to the performance of physical exercises, without collaboration and non-use of teamwork among the main actors related to traffic and health, problems of pollution given the large amount of gases put into the air due to the great use of vehicles and energy poles, we believe it is important to work on this day as a starting point to join people who are involved with this issue and want to physically improve and reduce pollution the city.
The emissions of CO2 gases, the overwhelming traffic stagnation and even traffic accidents, we need to mitigate them through different initiatives that promote sustainable transport. For this reason we believe it is important to develop activities that aim to position the substantive issues in the day to day of the different actors of society, both the state, companies and social organizations.
Think of community development as a paradigm of intervention in society.
Sustainable transport is compatible with economic growth and the reduction of our impact on the environment, in particular, avoiding the harmful effects of climate change. This means making the most of our transport networks, developing new ways of traveling and a greater focus on the environmental effects of transport.
The practical ways of doing this are linked to the expansion of travel options, and include:
- The analysis of the real travel needs of local communities
- Provide better travel information to attract more people to public transportation
- Develop really effective ways to encourage the use of the bicycle and walk
- Establish environmental requirements of the new plans and developments
- Optimize the offer of new developments and existing buildings, minimizing costs such as parking
