Detailed description (English): Two actions in one as part of the mobility week. We held a stand for Welcome Week (welcoming 1400 new students for the academic year). A stand that showed the different ways to reach the many campuses within the city of Mons and Charleroi through sustainable mobility.
On Monday, September 18, we collaborated with the Student Representative Organization (ORE) to promote sustainable mobility within a mobility village at the start of the students' school year. So we turned one of our campuses into a pedestrian and offered our staff members the opportunity to change their mode of transport (public transport, carpooling, ...).
Within the mobility village, we had a partner with a spit-test, different partnerships for public transport, shared cars, a check-up workshop for bicycles, animation on the micro-mobility and our university mobility stand to promote our sustainable mobility actions.
We have placed an emphasis on our Special Needs Committee to raise awareness of our inclusion actions among our entire academic community. Indeed, we are actively working on our infrastructure to make our university accessible to all.
Target group(s): the whole university community
Objectives: Sensitize and above all raise awareness in our university community about the development of sustainable mobility actions and inclusion of our students with disabilities. We have purchased equipment to make it as easy as possible for our PMR students to access all of the university’s sites (wheelchair robots, ramps, adapted tables).
The mobility village was also the way to carry out a bike check-up for our colleagues and students who come by bike to the university.
We offered MoBiB Basic cards loaded with the TEC Mobility Week offer to give the opportunity to change its mobility mode.
Many people would like to come via public transport but the offer is unfortunately not there.
