Detailed description (English): The focus of the Mobility Days will be on informing and starting a dialogue with employees and students about improving the University Hospital's connections, the existing mobility options and their further development. Cycling, public transport and walking are already of great importance today, as we know from a survey of employees in 2022 (not representative). Environmental and individual health effects are not to be neglected. 33% of employees stated that they use a bicycle/pedelec, 33% use public transport and 11% walk to work. Only 18% use the car. The programme of the Mobility Days will consist of three pillars: 1) information 2) activities at exhibition stands 3) dialogue events with people in charge at the University Hospital and guests. It will focus on the services and infrastructure of the University Hospital and the public infrastructure of the city of Cologne.
The city and the public transport organisation KVB will inform about their plans. For the information and action programme, civil society organisations are asked to participate, as they are committed, for example, to safety in road traffic. The offer of technical testing, as well as the protection of bicycles against theft will also be a topic. The aim of the University Hospital Cologne is to further promote the use of bicycles and local public transport, to strengthen its own infrastructure and to advocate for the improvement of the public infrastructure.
Target group(s): The main groups are employees and students.
Objectives: Information, activities and dialogue on the possibilities of one's own sustainable mobility behaviour for employees and students of the University Hospital Cologne.
Partner: The aim is to involve civil society organisations that are committed to sustainable mobility development and public duty bearers that are of great importance for the campus of the University Hospital Cologne. The programme is currently under development.
