Detailed description (English): Iberdrola has incorporated the Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations for the 2015-2030 horizon into the company's strategy and its Sustainability Policy. These goals are ambitious and universal. They are a call to action to all countries and all types of organisations and institutions to tackle the greatest environmental, social and economic challenges threatening the future of the planet. Iberdrola plays a role in achieving the targets set in each one of these 17 goals. Iberdrola confronts an immediate future characterised by the need to meet a strong growth in global energy demand using clean and efficient sources to reduce global emissions and combat climate change.
In line with Sustainable development Goals number 7 and 13, affordable and clean energy and climate action, Iberdrola considers that Sustainable Mobility Systems make a positive contribution to the environmental, social and economic sustainability of the communities they serve. Transport systems exist to provide social and economic connections, and people quickly take up the opportunities offered by increased mobility. The advantages of increased mobility need to be weighed against the environmental, social and economic costs that transport systems pose.
Iberdrola has developed a "Sustainable Mobility Plan" in response to the commitment that the group has acquired through the Sustainability Policy.
Iberdrola is aware that mobility is part of the production process of the company, and contributes to its economic and social dynamism.
Through the "Sustainable Mobility Plan" Iberdrola is to promote energy efficiency, reduce emissions, gain business benefit, improve the quality of life of people in areas in which it operates and have a committed and skilled workforce.
