Detailed description (English): As the University of Cádiz has been demonstrating before the 2030 Agenda, and therefore to Climate Change, we are aware of the determining role we play in achieving SDG 13 "Climate Action" and the need to work side by side in the important challenge of reduce greenhouse effect emissions into the atmosphere (mainly CO2) with awareness-raising actions that help improve air quality, minimize noise and promote social relations in the environment in which we find ourselves.
This campaign for sustainable mobility and healthy habits makes it possible to raise awareness and promote positive attitudes about sustainable mobility and non-motorized transport, which, in addition to reducing our carbon footprint, favors the cleanliness of the air and the protection of a privileged environment ideal to promote social relations .
With the environmental awareness campaign based on the "UCA-Puerto Real" Metrominuto we set the objective of promoting natural and sustainable mobility, basically cycling and pedestrian, in addition to promoting healthy habits.
The "UCA-Puerto Real Metrominuto" is a schematic representation of the central area of the municipality of Puerto Real and the university campus, representing the main points of centrality (facilities, university buildings, squares, parks, neighborhood centers ...) together with the distances that separate them expressed in meters and in minutes. It is, therefore, a communication tool that allows to favor the change of mobility model, making known the distances and the little time that is spent walking to make tours of nearby environments within a municipality, reducing the use of motorized vehicles. for short trips.
It has the visual codes of the metro maps, as a nod to one of the significant modes of transport in large cities, although in our case we will apply it to two sections within the municipality, the city center and the university campus that can seamlessly interconnect.
With this initiative based on the Metrominutos it is also intended to highlight the importance of gradually building compact cities where the needs of daily life can be solved in routes of ten or fifteen minutes on foot and assess different mobility options that invite you to leave the car parked.
Putting value and multiplying the actions that make up this awareness campaign acquires even more importance as it constitutes a set of good practices that has a clear impact on the population in general and university life in particular.
Campaign resources and tools
The Metrominuto campaign "Puerto Real and University, combine their steps" will have informative and environmental education material that encourages the population to walk and allows us to reflect on the impact of our daily mobility on the environment.
The resources that serve as support for the campaign are the following:
1 .- "Metrominutos Puerto Real and UCA".
References have been taken on the plane of the most significant places that may have daily use for members of the university community and for the majority of the population. To carry out these Metrominutes, distances have been measured, zones marked and the relationship between both places was sought through the connection by the promenade.
Once the significant points to be highlighted on the map have been defined, it has been designed and laid out by introducing the specific QR Code.
The document has been exported in the following formats that will be disseminated through physical media:
- Hand format.
- MUPIs located in the canopies of urban buses (120x175cm)
- Vinyls placed on the backs of city buses.
- Posters.
2º.- Promotional video lasting three minutes, with aerial images captured with a drone and showing an itinerary from the municipality to the university campus, along which the different forms of mobility will be displayed to carry out the journey (on foot, scooter, bicycle, etc.)
It will have a voice-over that will refer to the singularities of the walk, locations of the Metrominutes and distances and the different natural enclaves; highlighting how natural mobility is healthier, cheaper, more comfortable and allows us to enjoy the environment that surrounds us.
The video is aimed at promoting environmental education and participation among the university community and society in general.
3º.- Interpretive itineraries Puerto Real- University Campus
The university community and society in general will be invited to carry out the interpretive itinerary through the places where the promotional video of the campaign has been recorded.
4º.- Metrominutos de Mano.
5º.- Vinyls in Urban Transport. During the campaign, some of the municipality's buses will carry a sticker with the Metrominutos designs on their back.
1.- “Metrominutos Puerto Real y UCA”.
3º.- Itinerarios interpretativo Puerto Real- Campus Universitario
Target group(s): The main recipients are the university community (students, teachers, researchers and administration and services personnel) and the inhabitants of the municipality of Puerto Real and society in general.
Objectives: Objectives of the campaign:
• Contribute to a new mobility where pedestrian mobility and non-motorized means of transport are prioritized, such as bicycles or scooters in some of its modalities.
• Raise awareness in the general population and the university community in particular, of the benefit for the common good of this type of movement.
• To highlight the proximity between recognizable places in the municipality of Puerto Real, since if we know the time taken to walk to a certain place, it is easier to choose this means than if we conceive it as a distant place.
• Demystify, through this communication tool, the time it usually takes to walk between two more or less close points.
• Spread, in addition to sustainable mobility, other cross-cutting and interrelated messages related to climate change, the health of the planet, our own health, a new lifestyle, our responsibility towards the environment and university social responsibility.
