Detailed description (English): The Bike Station Academy: Veloschool is a CCF funded project aimed at reducing carbon emissions within school communities across Glasgow. One regular event will be our 'Bike Breakfasts'. Each primary school we work with will have two scheduled 'Bike Breakfasts' throughout the school year. These area aimed at encouraging pupils, parents and teachers to travel to school via an active travel method. By leaving the car at home you can get your bike checked over for free, a free healthy breakfast and help reduce congestion and carbon emissions around the school entrance.
These events are happening during MOBILITY WEEK 16 -22 September, and throughout the academic year.
Target group(s): Pupils, teachers and parents of the wider school communities that we work with across Glasgow
Objectives: With funding from the CCF, The Bike Station Academy aims to help reduce carbon emissions by educating, training and giving access to alternatives for school communities across Glasgow
Expected Outcomes: Our Bike Breakfasts hope to achieve bursts of enthusiasm for active travel within the school community. By hosting these events we hope to see an increase in the use of active travel by the school communities during these events. By incorporating a free cycle check we can encourage the community to recreate these journeys as often as they can.
