Detailed description (English): The Milton Park team is encouraging people to have fun and do their bit to look after the planet by ditching the car and travelling to work in a more sustainable way on Car Free Day. Those that sign up to the event will receive a free breakfast and there are company and individual prizes to be won...
Last year, nearly 300 employees from across the Park took on the Car Free Day challenge, saving roughly 650kg of CO2 emissions (the equivalent weight of six baby elephants or one large Alaskan moose) by traveling to work by bus, bike, car share and on foot – with some even choosing to rollerblade or use a tandem!
With the target set to beat last year’s results, sign up (registration form at the bottom of this page) and take the Car Free Day pledge by traveling to Milton Park on 21 September via any form of transport other than a single-occupied car.
Will you unicycle dressed as a Roman centurion? Or perhaps stand-up paddle board to Culham and walk the rest of the way? The Milton Park team is looking forward to seeing the creative costumes and methods of travel you come up with this year!
When you arrive, meet us at the Milton Feast area with proof of your travel (i.e. your Milton Park bus pass, a screenshot of your Strava journey, a photo with your car share buddies or similar) to receive a free breakfast. Pick from a warm bacon or veggie bap from Pierreponts Café or a delicious pastry from Horsebox Coffee.
Here, you can also learn more about the range of sustainable transport initiatives we have at the Park - from the £20 annual bus pass and Kinto Join car share app to
