Detailed description (English): How to encourage students to get to university more sustainably? What are their most important factors for choosing how to travel? What are the main reasons for cycling or not cycling? How can universities and involved parties contribute to a greener and healthier future of the students? European Mobility Week is the perfect occasion to raise awareness on this important topic and speak about the different questions.
The following participants will join our discussion: Prof. Heikki Liimatainen (Tampere University), Dr. Ville Henttu (South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences), Prof. Dr. Christian Grotemeier (RheinMain University of Applied Sciences), Dr.-Ing. Tom Assmann (Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg) and Karl Reiter (Institute for Transport Education Graz). Hosts will be Tiina Jauhiainen (South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences) and Prof. Dr. Sven Hermann (NBS Northern Business School).
As organizers of this open talk South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences, NBS Northern Business School and LogistikLotsen for the Metropolitan Region Northwest are starting an additional online student survey with a focus on campus bicycle use and attitudes in September. First impressions from this survey and upcoming activities of the partners will be discussed as well during the talk.
