Detailed description (English): The traditional VNT campaign “ Bike to work” is focused on VNT employees and contractors. During the campaign’s day VNT encourages everyone to come to work by bike and give valuable prizes for this activity. In the past, bikers received bike lamps, kilometer counters and bag covers.
In 2018, VNT switched a focus a bit - on 20 September 2018 employees and contractors are encouraged to go to work by bicycle or by foot in order to promote healthy life style, reduction of traffic jams and enjoy surroundings.
During “Cycling season opening in Ventspils” VNT employees together with their families are biking on Ventspils streets, which usually are used by cars. This is a great opportunity to get to know colleagues better and teach kids why the bike is good for health and environment, and promote the VNT image as active contributor to the local community.
Every year the number of cycling fans increase, and it motivates VNT to continuously contribute into maintenance and development of the cycling culture.
Detailed description (original language): Kampaņa “Ar velo uz darbu” ir vērsta uz VNT darbiniekiem un darbuzņēmējiem. Kampaņas dienā VNT aicina ikvienu doties uz darbu ar velosipēdiem, un piešķir velobraucējiem vērtīgas balvas. Iepriekšējos gados velobraucēji ir saņēmuši kilometru skaitītājus un velo lukturīšus un mugursomu apvalkus. 2018. gadā VNT veicina ne tikai pārvietošanu ar velosipēdiem, bet arī atnākšanu uz darbu ar kājām, piešķirot balvas par šādiem pārvietošanas veidiem kampaņas dienā - 20.09.2018.
Pasākumā “Velosezonas atklāšana Ventspilī” VNT darbinieki kopā ar savām ģimenēm dodas velo izbraukumā pa Ventspils ielām, kuras tajā dienā ir slēgtas autotransportam. Šī ir lieliskā iespēja labāk iepazīties ar kolēģiem neformālā gaisotnē, kā arī iemācīt bērniem, kāpēc velosipēds palīdz uzlabot veselību un apkārtējo vidi, un ka vecāku darba devējs ir aktīvs vietējās kopienas dalībnieks.
Ar katru gadu velo aktīvistu skaits arvien pieaug, kas arī motivē VNT nepārtraukti ieguldīt velo infrastruktūras uzturēšanā un attīstībā.

1) promote employees/contractors getting around by bicycle safely and comfortably both in the company’s territory and outside it,
2) facilitate healthy activities among employees, visitors, employees' families
3) decrease fuel consumption while going to/from work and at 100 ha territory of VNT itself,
4) increase awareness of environmental responsibility,
5) encourage people to use Ventspils city high-quality cycling infrastructure,
6) organize team-building activities.
Expected Outcomes: Increasing number of cyclist from year to year (20 in 2015, 70 in 2016, ? in 2017)
