Detailed description (English): This educational project promotes active travel such as walking, scooting and cycling. I have presented to students the benefits of active journeys to school. During European Mobility Week, students have decided to give up travelling by car or by bus. They have been travelling actively since then. I have noticed that my students arrive at school fresh and ready to learn. The streets around the school have become safer with less congested.
Students worked in groups and created projects in which they presented the benefits of travelling actively. They underlined the fact that travelling actively is healthy for us and also good for our planet. Nevertheless, we can tackle climate change by travelling actively.
We took pupils on a short walk around the local area to educate them on the basics of walking. We taught in a fun and interactive way to cover topics including the kerbs, pavement, stop-look and listen rule, crossing points and so on.
