Boosting active employees
Movement leads to both mentally and physically fitter employees. But how can you, as an employer, motivate your employees to get active and moving? During a Business Bites inspiration session on Tuesday, September 17th, Ghent-based companies will be presented with numerous practical examples. Fitter employees are less likely to fall ill, work more focused, have better memory, experience less stress at work, are more social with colleagues, and are more productive at work. So, it’s simply smart to invest in active employees. More info: https://stad.gent/nl/ondernemen/hapklare-inspiratiesessies-voor-gentse-ondernemers

Campaign to promote subsidies for environmentally friendly mobility
Launch of campaign to put premiums and subsidies for environmentally friendly mobility in the spotlight. The City of Ghent offers premiums and subsidies for environmentally friendly mobility to its residents and companies. For example, citizens can receive premiums if they hand in their old license plate or if they get their old car or moped scrapped. Companies can receive premiums if, for example, they install charging stations or share electric cars.

On Friday 20 September, 'Strapdag' will take place. On this day, we call on all children to walk or pedal/cycle to school that day. Dozens of schools in Ghent will make the street at the school gate traffic-free for 1 day and organize extra activities to draw attention to Strapdag.

Night tram party
Together with the De Lijn, the City of Ghent is organizing an event to promote the public transport company's night network. Under the slogan "More Tram, More Ghent, More Fun!", a special party tram will run through the city center on Thursday 19 September from 10pm to midnight. The tram will be decorated with festive lights, and several DJs will provide the music. The tram is free, and anyone who wants to join the party is welcome to hop on. This event is part of the "Langer Gent" campaign that took place earlier this year.
