Sandanski was continually improving the facilities for the public transport during 2008 - bus stops, bus stop shelters, bus stop signs, information panels on attractive spots /like municipal hall, court, hospital, central square, train and bus stations, etc./.

Car-free day
Sandanski carries out a Car-free day 2008 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
