Permanent measures
Litomyšl implements, planned or promotes one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.
Further info
A mini-roundabout crossing with an elevated zebra crossing for pedestrians was installed in 17. listopadu Street. This measure should improve traffic in the street for public transport buses. Furthermore, the town arranged the marking of counter-directional passing of cyclists on the one-way roads of the town (the streets of Vodní valy, J.E. Purkyně, Gregorka)
The town also established a zone with prohibited waiting of cargo vehicles and buses at night in the territory of the whole town (less intensive noise and smog load).
Car-free day
Litomyšl carries out a Car-free day 2006 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
