COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN “Safe to School, Travel Sustainably in Ptuj!”
Through the community campaign “Safe to School, Travel Sustainably in Ptuj!” we aim to engage Ptuj residents in a wider discussion about safety, sustainable mobility, and a friendly city. To make participation more fun, we prepared a special event: a giant coloring sheet. This is an artistic canvas designed by graphic designer Barbara Borko in cooperation with the Art Gymnasium of Ptuj. The coloring sheet is not just a drawing, but a true creative message about safety and sustainable urban living. The community coloring will take place at the Ptuj City Market, where passersby can watch how young people bring the canvas to life with their colors. After the event, the canvas will be preserved digitally and printed as a sticker to decorate Ptuj city bus line 1 during the European Mobility Week and throughout October.

CYCLING TRACK FOR CHILDREN
For children from the older groups of Kindergarten Ptuj, a preventive-educational program in road traffic will be organized on the Cycling Track for Children. Through play, children will learn how drivers see them on the road, the importance of wearing a helmet, and especially how to cross the road safely. The program teaches the basics of proper traffic behavior in a fun way. In addition, stands with informative and educational content about reuse of waste and sustainable mobility will be set up. The cycling track is part of the project “Return Me to Reuse”, which teaches us how play, movement, and reconsideration can help protect the environment and make the city friendlier for everyone.

STREETS FOR CHILDREN
Ptuj primary schools will participate in the preventive campaign “Streets for Children”. Since children cannot draw with chalk in parks or gyms, they will instead be allowed to create drawings with chalk in schoolyard areas. Their creations will highlight the need for more space for play, less traffic, cleaner air, and safer routes to school.
