Võru implements, planned or promotes one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.

New or improved bicycle facilities
Improvement of bicycle network (creation of new lanes, extension, renovation, signposting etc) implemented
5 km of new cycling and hiking tracks were constructed in town to improve mobility and accessibility of light traffic routes.
Pedestrianisation
Create or enlarge pedestrian streets implemented
Improvement of infrastructure (new foot bridges, pavements, road crossings, zebra crossings etc) implemented
Extension or creation of new greenways implemented
In the newly designed central town square project pedestrians have priority over vehicular traffic with planned means of reduced speed limit and a lot of new bicycle parking areas.

Every year in May a Cycling Day open for families and all cycling enthusiasts is organised by Town Government aiming to popularize cycling and use of bikes in the town. Also paying more attention to road safety issues when moving on two wheels is a special feature of the event.
