All drivers willing to check the level of pollution in exhaust pipes of their cars, will have a possibilty to have their cars checked free of charge by the emplyees of Alytus region Environment Protection Department. In case the pollution rate exceeds the standards, the drivers receive no financial fine, but the request to fix the car so it fits the standard.The event is planned the 17th of September, 2012.

Furthermore, drivers and pedestrians will be encouraged to be responsible, use less private transportand walk more, use bicycles and public transport. The announcements will be published on local mass media measures.
