Carpooling
At two selected locations, we will establish pilot carpool parking areas. The parking spaces will be marked with visible signs informing residents about the possibility of carpooling or using public transportation. A call to use these parking areas will be published on the official website of the Municipality of Benedikt and on the municipality’s official Facebook profile, where we will also inform residents about the purpose and benefits of carpooling and sustainable mobility.

School Street
As part of the European Mobility Week 2025, the Municipality of Benedikt, in cooperation with Benedikt Primary School, will implement a so-called “School Street.” For a period of one month, the main parking lot next to the school and part of the access road leading directly to the school building will be closed to motor traffic. This will restrict car access to the school, allowing children a safe, comfortable, and independent way to reach the school, while also creating a secure and lively space for socializing, physical activity, and learning in front of the school.

Let’s Clean Up the Streets
As part of the activity, residents will have the opportunity to submit suggestions regarding everyday obstacles they encounter on their routes as pedestrians, cyclists, or users of other sustainable forms of mobility. On a specially prepared scaled-down map of the municipality, featuring marked municipal infrastructure, they will be able to identify critical points—such as poorly maintained green areas, overgrown or mud-covered cycling and walking paths, inaccessible routes, and similar issues.
The collected suggestions will be recorded and reviewed together with representatives of the municipal road maintenance concessionaire and other stakeholders during on-site visits. Based on these findings, we will prepare a plan for their removal. We will strive to eliminate most of these obstacles during the European Mobility Week 2025.
