Traffic Safety Session: Proper Use of Bicycle and Pedestrian Lanes
As part of European Mobility Week, this interactive session aims to raise awareness about the safe and proper use of bicycle lanes and pedestrian walkways. Officers from the Traffic Police and Municipal Police will be present to provide guidance, answer questions, and engage participants—both students and citizens—in meaningful discussions about road safety, shared spaces, and responsible mobility.

The activity takes place all day on Asklipiou Pedestrian Street, offering a real-world setting for understanding how to navigate urban spaces safely and respectfully.

Painting by the River (School Groups)
This artistic activity encourages children to explore themes of sustainable mobility, nature, and urban life through painting. Guided by educators and volunteers, the students will create artworks that reflect their ideas about greener, more people-friendly cities. The activity will be held at r=the riverbanks of Litheos River that flows through the city center of Trikala.
The riverbank becomes an open-air classroom and art studio, blending environmental awareness with imagination and play. A great way to connect learning with real-world experience—right in the heart of the city!

All-Day Event on Othonos Street

The city comes alive with a vibrant program celebrating sustainable mobility, inclusivity, and community spirit throughout the day.

The morning kicks off with an energetic dance performance by the KAPI seniors group, setting a joyful and lively tone. Following this, the Children and Youth Day Center invites young participants to explore the vision of a car-free city through games and engaging activities that inspire reflection on sustainable urban living.

Next, the focus shifts to active mobility with roller skating sessions, promoting fun and healthy movement for all ages.

In the afternoon, children and youth can take part in various sports activities organized by KDAP (Creative Activity Centers for Children) along the paved walkway extending to Asklipiou Street, encouraging physical activity and social connection.

At the same time, 3x3 basketball tournaments will bring together teams from local clubs, energized by live drum support to create an exciting and inclusive sporting atmosphere.

As evening falls, the city embraces culture and celebration with a municipal dance performance, followed by a lively concert that wraps up the day with music and joy.

This diverse lineup creates a dynamic and welcoming environment, highlighting the benefits of car-free urban spaces while promoting sustainable and active lifestyles for everyone.
