Clare County Council organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2010, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
As part of mobility week, we wil organise event similar to event held for bike week. Cycle tour of 2 main towns involving all schools in Ennis & Shannon respectivley. Will promote walking events throughout the week through Clare Sports Partnership & HSE.

Further info
In it proposed to develop a pilot periodic speed zone around selected primary schools. This will hopefully create a safer zone outside the schools and encourage pupils and teachers to walk or cycle to school. It will also reduce significantly the risk of accident at these locations

Clare County Council carries out a Car-free day 2010 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
