Reykjavik organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2012, taking into account the annual theme.

Emphasizing the good progress we have made the last years, by collect all data regarding cycling and more cycling routs. Increase in public transport and more emphasis on public transport in all planning, like laying more lanes specific for public transport and giving way in traffic lights for public transport.

Accessibilities
We are working on some of these improvements, and have already done alot.

More cycle routs implemented, major connection between cities in the capitol area for example. Special roads for cycling and even the first cycle counter implemented in the city.

Car-free day Car-free day

Reykjavik carries out a Car-free day 2012 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
