• We organise the Social Biking Challenge "Thessaloniki West" in cooperation with the adjacent municipalities of Ampelokipi-Menemeni and Pavlos Melas. Through this action we aim to reduce the use of cars for daily trips in the city among the citizens and also to promote the use of bicycles and therefore a healthier lifestyle.
• Pilot application of the free use of public bicycles for municipal employees during their shift for in service journeys in the city. Municipal employees could be a good example for citizens about the implementation of mobility solutions and could be a source of inspiration about the sustainable mobility. After the one week pilot application it is intented for permanent application as well.

• During the regular City Council, which takes place 2-3 times per month a dissemination event will be organised in order to inform the local policy makers and stakeholders about the priorities the EU has set up about Urban Mobility such as e-mobility, pedestrianization, installation of bicycle infrastructure etc.. There are obstacles we have to overcome to be in line with all these priorities and therefore it is a top issue to set up a suitable strategy with the support of other local organisations and stakeholders for the gradual implementation of Sustainable Mobility measures which improve air quality, environment and quality of life. A very useful pool of knowledge and experience is the InnovaSUMP project (Interreg Europe project about low carbon economies) in which we are partners which deals with innovations in the elaboration of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans.

• Car free day: We are going to offer the bicycles for the public bicycles sharing system to the citizens for free, in order to promote the main advantages of bicycles compare to the car in everyday life. This kind of action is supposed to advertise the system to the citizens because it is rather new and there is still room for further development. During that event also dissemination actions will take place for citizens in order to raise awareness about the need of sustainability and the benefits to our health, quality of life and the environment that will arise and in addition to inform them about the results and main outputs of InnovaSUMP project (Interreg Europe porject for low carbon economy) in which we are partners.
