Activities within the week Activities within the week

Sestu organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2012, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
For this initiative we adopted the smartphone application Green Steps that can anonymously track the paths of commuters that activate it during their journeys. The algorithms developed as part of the TETRis national project are able to extract precise information and data associated with these three categories of results:
1) patterns of pure commuting;
2) the impact of CO2, which is cumulative for all paths;
3) the possible energy savings.
The basic territorial unit we used in our case study is that of the census zone, as defined by ISTAT (National Institute for Statistics), that for the case of the Municipality of Sestu are 42. The data are then aggregated on a census area basis and displayed on maps with colors for each of these areas (red or green according to an increasing or decreasing of the CO2 production/energy consumption respectively). All the maps will be shown on the Greens' web site: greens-application.appspot.com/
