Throughout September 2025, the Novo Celje kindergarten (with the Municipality of Žalec) will run the “Kiss & Go” campaign to promote walking to preschool.

Parking spaces will be temporarily closed to create a safe drop-off zone and marked walking path to the entrance. Children and parents will walk the final stretch together, supported by creative markings, signs, and educational activities.

The campaign raises awareness of sustainable mobility, encourages walking habits, and improves safety. It includes workshops, a mobility-themed exhibition, a parent survey, and informal talks about healthy commuting.

From 25 August to 30 September 2025, the Municipality of Žalec will run its traditional campaign encouraging employees of public institutions and other organizations to commute sustainably – by walking, cycling, public transport, carpooling, or using electric vehicles.

Participants will keep a simple daily log of their commute mode and can submit it physically or digitally. At the end, they’ll be invited to share their experience and suggest improvements for more accessible sustainable commuting.

The campaign raises awareness, promotes active travel, and helps identify mobility barriers. A prize draw will be held for participants with at least four sustainable commutes.

During September 2025, the Municipality of Žalec will run an inclusive campaign engaging children, parents, and older citizens to identify obstacles on daily walking and cycling routes (e.g. to school, shops, or the doctor). Observations will be collected via walks, forms, and QR codes. The goal is to highlight accessibility challenges for vulnerable groups and encourage long-term improvements in pedestrian infrastructure. An info point in front of the municipal building will support awareness and public participation.

In September 2025, the Municipality of Žalec will test shared use of its electric service vehicle (Renault Zoe) with local public institutions. The goal is to reduce private car use, promote e-mobility, and improve cooperation between public services. The pilot will run throughout the municipality for the entire month.
