- Implementation of major infrastructure projects (rehabilitation of roads, tram tracks, traffic lights, bridges, domestic sewerage (under IFI (EBRD and IBRD loans)and EU
funded projects;
- Loan Agreement for EBRD funded project – “Arad Urban Transport Project” Phase III – ongoing procurement procedures for the acquisition of new trams, modernisation of the main depot infrastructure and introducing of an e-ticketing system for the local transport;
- Implementation of 6 EU funded infrastructure projects under the Operational regional Plan, including the rehabilitation of 2 important bridges level crossings modernisation, ring road modernisation;
- Participation to the IEE Project “An inclusive peer-to-peer approach to involve EU CONURBations and wide urban (CONURBANT)” – 2011 – 2014;
- Arad finalised the implementation of HURO Project „Common development of bicycle routes in Arad and Gyula”(May 2012 – May 2013), with the following results: Technical design for 14 km bicycle lanes along the river Mures, 80 bicycle stands mounted next to important public institutions, bike sharing project)
- Local Council Resolution to finance the works for14 km bicycle lanes;
- Implementation of project “Improvement of the Environment” included in the Swiss-Romanian Cooperation Programme to reduce disparities within the enlarged European Union:
- Sustainable Energy Action Plan updated and approved by the Local Council of Arad Municipality – including measures related to local transport and mobility;
- Application for EU funding under the Operational Regional Programme for bicycle lanes project:

Car-free day Car-free day

Arad carries out a Car-free day 2013 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
