Ekerö organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2013, taking into account the annual theme.

This year Ekerö municipality is celebrating the bicycle which can contribute to better health and cleaner air. On Monday and Tuesday officials are giving out free bike shirts to the people who commute by bike. Ekerö municipality also organizes a common commuting day for those who want to try it out. For two days, Friday and Saturday, the officials organize have a bicycle party in the city center. In the bicycle party the inhabitants of Ekerö municipality can get their bicycle fixed for free, compete about an electric bicycle (or just try it out) or participate in a lottery and win bicycle helmets. Bicycle organizations and bicycle clubs will be there to give out information. One of the more important activities is the possibility for the inhabitants of Ekerö municipality to discuss new bicycle lanes with officials of the municipality.
