Kópavogur organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2011, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
- Opening a web site for comments on our first and new bicycle network
- Survey in schools, how to 6 and 12 year olds travel to school, motivation to schools to encourage all to use alternative transport.
- Introduction of our policy to change and invest in eco-friendly transport for the municipality.
- Conference- Cycling to the future, organized by cycling organization in Iceland
- Family day at Strætó bs. (public bus company)
- Organizing competition between the staff off Kopavogur municipality in which department is the most eco-friendly.

Kópavogur implements, planned or promotes one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.

New or improved bicycle facilities
We have started working on our new bicycle network and are now asking for comments on our plan that lies forhand. After that we will make action plan on next bike lanes.
Pedestrianisation
Improvement of infrastructure (new foot bridges, pavements, road crossings, zebra crossings etc) implemented
Mobility management
Launch of awareness-raising campaigns implemented
Development of travel plans / mobility plans in consultation with local stakeholders implemented
