Olomouc organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2006, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
On Saturday 16 September, European Mobility Week in Olomouc was launched on Horní Square with a bike ride to the Bystřicka micro-region. At the finish, the health condition of the cyclists was tested. On that day, the city authority opened competitions for children and young people from schools entitled “Ride only with a helmet on a bike". Throughout the day, the schools promoted the events prepared for EMW (cycling and roller blade skating, common skating rides).
On Tuesday, children took part in bike races at Andrle stadium: a bike skill competition for children and young people and on Wednesday, the public bike race for children and young people was held.
On Thursday, interested individuals had an opportunity, in cooperation with wheelchair-bound people, to join the “Try the world as viewed from the wheelchair" event by the Sports Hall of Palacký University. From Monday to Thursday, the organizers offered public lessons for safe roller blade skating in Smetanovy sady.
