16 September
This year Uzbekistan marks the European Mobility Week with the information campaign “Love Your City. Move Sustainably. Stay Healthy” taking place from 16 - 22 September 2021.

The heart symbol of campaign carries an important and heartfelt message. That message is - our strength and resilience derive from shared vision about better future; it derives from cooperation, as well as simple, our everyday choices to make the place we live, a better one.

“Love Your City” message denotes the affection we all feel towards the place we live – be it Tashkent, Bukhara, Adijan, Nukus, or any other city or mahalla.

“Move Sustainably” invites people of Uzbekistan to make informed choices of mobility, such as walking, cycling, taking metro or tram. That is a healthy personal choice and make our city a better and safer place to be.

“Stay Healthy” message of campaign pays tribute to the hardships felt by Europe, Uzbekistan, as well as the world throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. What we all want is to be healthy and strong.

EMW campaign kicks off with the special Art Exhibition “Artistic Visions of Sustainable Urban Mobility” on 16 September. The exhibition dedicated to EMW in Uzbekistan will feature specially commissioned artworks – designed bicycles by promising Uzbek artists. The artworks elevate the bicycle to the status of sculpture and remind the viewer that cycling is one of the most enjoyable forms of sustainable urban mobility.

Youth of Uzbekistan is invited to join the campaign, to show support to the vision of less polluted cities and point out their sustainable mobility choice by posting the heart symbol on social media.

The nation-wide information campaign taking place 16 - 22 September runs across social media and news media, TV, OOH and radio and targets young urban residents. It is supported by Tashkent’s art community, Tashkent Runners Association, Cycling Association, as well as different bloggers.
