The project "Walk and bike to school" has been made permanent. During 2009 the Hällby school and the Mesta school will develope the method further.

A new bridge for pedestrians and cyclists at Munktell

The workplace project Brunnsta has been performed aiming at raising the number of public transport travellers in the Brunnsta area. The result of this work is an 60% incerase in public transport travellers during certain time periods during the day.

Most passages/lanes for pedestrians and cyclists have been equipped with stronger illumination to increase the security and safety.

Three new biogas buses has been put into operation during 2009, resulting in 99 000 litre less diesel usage during a year.
Totally 10 bigas buses will replace diesel buses until 2010.

22 September Eskilstuna municipality signed a paper to accept the national challange "Inte bilen under milen" (not to use the car for stretches less than 10 km). The challange/campagne is organized by the Swedish Association of Green Motorists and the Swedish physiotherapist association.


Projektet "Gå och cykla till skolan" har permanentats. 2009 är det Hällbyskolan och Mestaskolan som arbetar vidare med metoden.

Ny gång- och cykelbro vid Munktell.

"Arbetsplatsprojekt Brunnsta" har genomförts i syfte att öka arbetsresor med kollektivtrafiken i Brunnsta. Arbetet har resulterat i en 60 % ökning av resenärer med kollektivtrafiken under vissa tidpunkter.

Flertalet gång- och cykelpassager har utrustats med förstärkt belysning i syfte att öka tryggheten och säkerheten.

Tre nya biogasbussar togs i drift i början på 2009. Dessa ersätter förbrukningen av cirka
99 000 liter diesel under ett år. Totalt kommer 10 nya biogasbussar att ersätta dieselbussar fram till 2010.

22 september 2009 antog Eskilstuna den nationella utmaningen, en kampanj som organiseras av Gröna bilister och Sveriges sjukgymnastförbund, genom att skriva under ett papper under "I stan utan min bil".

Car-free day Car-free day

Eskilstuna carries out a Car-Free Day 2009 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
