Zagreb (City of Zagreb) organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2011, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
1. During European Mobility Week a total of 20 presentations of projects, permanent measures, programs and activities of the City of Zagreb and partners will be held aimed to improve quality of life for citizens of Zagreb in the field of sustainable mobility, transportation, accessibility, mobility of persons with disabilities, traffic safety, environmental protection, energy efficiency, strategic planning, sustainable development, recreation and health:

•Presentation of European mobility card – Why conducting of Campaign for freedom of movement? (Croatian Union of Associations of Persons with Disabilities - SOIH)
•Presentation of Zagreb City Guide for Persons with Disabilities (City Office for Social Protection and Persons with Disabilities)
•European Projects for Sustainabile Mobility - CIVITAS ELAN, Presto, TRAILBLAZER (City Office for the Strategic Planning and Development of the City)
•Presentation of theme: Alternative Mobility – Association ODRAZ,
•Traffic congestion (Faculty of Traffic and Transport Sciences)
•Results of EU project PRESTO implementation: Why, in what way and how manny students do(not) use bicycle in Zagreb? (Faculty of Natural and Mathematical Sciencies, Department of Geografy)

2. Demonstration measurements of the air quality with mobile environmental laboratory (PEL) - education of primary school students about the impact of transport on the environment (Dvokut ECRO d.o.o. and Zagreb City Office for Education, Culture and Sport)
3. Lesson on the topic of „Alternative Mobility“- Start of the European Mobility Week will be marked in all primary schools in Zagreb with one school hour devoted to this year's theme „Alternative Mobility“- Total of 61,639 students in 115 elementary schools in this way will be included in the European Mobility Week.
4. Presentation of the project „Bicycle in Kindergarten“- children from kindergarten 'Botinec'
will visit Cvjetni trg (Central Point of this year EMW) where they will present safe driving and traffic regulations to other children.
5. „The best age“ – Association My Bicycle will ensure a tricycle for the elderly in order to show various possibilites of alternative mobility.
6. CIVITAS ELAN INFO-POINT - in order to ensure the quality of dialogue with citizens in a tram car in front of the Technical Museum in Zagreb was established CIVITAS ELAN INFO-POINT. Program CIVITAS ELAN INFO-POINT includes educational workshops, professional meetings, presentation of plans, arrangements and methods in connection with traffic in Zagreb, forums for citizens, media conferences, exhibitions, conducting surveys and other activities. Open daily 13:00 to 17:00 am, 09:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
7. Educating children about safety on roads - within the school in the nature Zagreb Police Department will hold training on road traffic safety in elementary schools
8. MEN'S HEALTH URBAN CHALLENGE - The race covers the City of Zagreb and its surroundings and attracts 150 competitors from 8 European countries made up of professional athletes, amateurs, and amateurs who will be in competition to overcome the most attractive destinations of Zagreb countering the challenges of paddling kayaks, mountain bike, hiking, orientation and mountaineering, and surprise the different tasks such as navigation through the city with public transportation, etc. A part of the race (kayaking) will be held at Bundek lake.
The race will take place at 24th September as the extetntion of EMW.
9. TRAVELING WITH THE BIKE - info/educational point of Bicycle Association, every day during EMW. Promoting the use of bicycles, ciklo-touristic maps, brochures and education about the benefits of riding a bicycle through the city.
10. PARKing, All Day Event on Lake Bundek which aims to arouse public awareness of the importance of health, exercise in nature and the importance of recreation in the fresh air for all categories of citizens.
11. "Give / Exchange / Sale" - The Association Bicycle organizes an Open Air Market ('Flea Market') where citizens can donate, exchange, sell parts, bicycle equipment or a bicycle.
12.During the Day "Mobility of Persons with Movement Difficulties“ Forest path BLIZNEC will be in motion - presentation of Nordic walking, recreation and walking along the course for persons with disabilities and persons with movement difficulties, health measurements (blood pressure, bone density measurement, etc.) - Zagreb Sports Federation of Persons with Disabilities, Association for the prevention of overweight, Retirement Home Saint Josip, Association for life quallity improvement S.O.S., City office for social protection and people with disabilities
13. "Supervision of parking spaces for persons with disabilities - Preventive-Repressive Action of the Zagreb Police Department in the wider metropolitan area.
14. Passing through the obstacles path - Simulation of blind person's mobility with assistance of the guiding dogs for the blind (Croation Hudie Dog and Mobility Association)
15. Rehabilitation Centre SILVER/Open Day - children from kindergarten Markuševac and Policlinic for speach and hearing rehabilitation Suvag visit the Center with and educate about mobility problems of blind and partially sighted persons and a demonstration of the guiding dogs for the blind.
16. Measurement of differences in the quality of the air the day before and the day of closing traffic in the city centre with a mobile laboratory for air quality monitoring that will be placed in Masarykova.
17. In town without my car - 08:00 to 22:00 hours the traffic restrictions for motor vehicles in the city center area bordered Gunduliceva, Mesnicka, Gornji Grad, Jurišićeva, Palmoticeva, Boškovićeva and Hebrangova.
18. The awards ceremony for the photo contest on "Travel through my neighbourhood“ conducted by CIVITAS ELAN
19. Project „Going to work by bicycle“ – Association My Bicycle in colaboration with Coca-Cola Beverages will donate three bicycles for employees of City of Zagreb. It is just a beginning of this project in City of Zagreb.
20. Kumice s Dolca – female vegetable producers will be dressed in traditional national/folk costume and will sell their eco products on the biggest Open Air Market in Zagreb
21. Presentation of an Electric Car- Association Greenergo and Technical Museum
22. „Go to Keglić“ – recreational and educational programme for Zagreb citizen, especially for the residents od district Črnomerec
23. „Udomljavanje je fora“ – Finding a new home and loving family for abandoned dogs - it is a great way to go for a walk with new pet. (City office for Agriculture and Forestry)
24.Questionnaire of citizens suggestions and attitudes regarding bicycles tracks and bicycles parking area – EU project CIVITAS ELAN

26. ZAGREB ŽBICA - traditional mass bike ride through the Centre of the City, a total length of 7 km. The citizens of other Croatian cities will join Zagreb citizens. Teams of ecological awaken companies will join as well.
27. OPEN AIR ROCK CONCERT – Live concert of two famous Croatian Ethno-Rock'n'Roll bands VALunGARi and CINKUŠI. They are supporting the ideas of EMW and an idea of suistainbile traffic, enviroment protection and healthy lifestyles.
28. Maps of Public Transportation – During the „In Town Without My Car“ event, theese maps will serve as ticket for public transportation (buses, trams covering the total city area).

Car-free day Car-free day

Zagreb (City of Zagreb) carries out a Car-Free Day 2011 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
